Hi all
First time poster here. Have a series of questions regarding Ontario Youth Soccer.
We currently live in BC and my son is born in 2006, playing on a top Metro team and is also a training player on a BCSPL team (OPDL similar?).
After many years out here, we are looking at returning to our roots in Ontario where most of our family lives. We are up in the air as to whether we will live near Toronto or London. I have very little knowledge on the Youth Soccer system in Ontario and any link where I could get a layman's guide would be a huge help. Also, if anyone has knowledge of the London Youth soccer setup, what is our best approach to integrating our son into that system? Is it better to look at Toronto instead? If he doesn't make an OPDL team, what other academies are good and worth spending money with? Are the same problems we're facing here in BC the same as Ontario? (tier 1 BCSPL, 8 team league, sold as best vs best but isn't, $4000+, metro tier 2 club teams, numerous metro teams would beat bottom 4 BCSPL, only $500+, can't make Whitecaps/Provincial Program unless BCSPL, private academies not part of BC Soccer, run separate academy league, no chance to be included in Whitecaps/Provincial team.) If your son was a solid player and you had free choice to go somewhere in Ontario, what would you do for his development?
Thanks for any answers. Los Blancos
