I have been meaning to highlight this academy (as well as others that I have come across) for those who have not heard of it.
But it seems I cannot keep up with all the news they keep putting out. Just this week alone they have announced the addition of a women's team to participate in the Womens Premier Soccer League and also announcing continuation of a key sponsorship in the form of a local brewing company.
It worth noting that this academy is well established with some key principles underpinning their development philosophy as documented in their blueprint for development. The academy boasts a membership of about 600 youth players, approximately 150 of which are part of the 11 month full time program.
In addition to the documented development philosophy, TSS is committed to providing Canadian players with a complete development path. In 2017 they created a men's team to participate in the USL PDL league (considered 4th tier behind MLS, NASL, and USL). And more recently, they announced a women's team to participate in the WPSL.
Everything I have read about this academy tells me they are truly passionate about moving the game forward in Canada. They are trailblazers in that they are setting the standard for what a football club might look like in Canada. I encourage you to follow and support them either by getting out to one of their mens or womens game, buying merchandise or a seasons tickets, or just cheering on their endeavors from afar.
